Name: Catniss

Age: 8 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Catniss enjoys being held and petted, but she is reserved. She spends most of her time lying inside her litter box even though she has a bed. When she is left on the ground, she tries to run back to her cage. If she is adopted, she will need a quiet home and time to adjust to her surroundings. Catniss has been adopted before, but she was brought back to the shelter after years because her owners didn’t want her. What stayed in my mind after the visit was Catniss’s face and how she poked her head out of the cage and looked at me with her green, piercing eyes one last time before we parted with her. Catniss is already spayed, microchipped and requires her rabies vaccinations.

Vanessa Cardoso (she/her) is a senior and a first year staff member of the Marquee. She likes to read, write, and watch tv in her free time. Her favorite color is pink, and she has a pet dog named Minnie. She participated in a slew of sports in school like dance, basketball and volleyball even though she had no prior experience. Also, she has attended five schools.

Avery Jerina (she/her) is a senior and a first year staff member of The Marquee. Avery began practicing photography in 2017 as a hobby. Her favorite things to photograph are her friends, nature, and overall creative shots. Aside from photography, one of her main passions in life is dance, and more specifically ballet. Avery has danced for nearly 15 years and has trained in a pre-professional ballet company in Coppell for 4 years. Avery is excited for her final year at Marcus!
