Over the past few years, frozen yogurt has become a nationwide trend. This frozen fad pulled once-devout ice cream lovers away from their double-scooped chocolate cones and into a world of frozen lusciousness. In Flower Mound, the craze began with the ever-so-popular Yogurt Story. Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt and Scooter’s Coffee and Yogurt soon followed. With the recent opening of TCBY (The Country’s Best Yogurt) off of 407, however, these renowned yogurt shops need to prepare themselves for some competition.
Walking through the doors of TCBY, customers are immediately surrounded by modern and colorful décor. Pink and yellow chairs surround white, pristine tables, creating a futuristic atmosphere. A variety of yogurt dispensers line the back wall, and a buffet-style table holds dozens of toppings and sauces.
When it comes to flavors, TCBY has it all. For ice cream lovers, TCBY features typical options like chocolate and vanilla, both of which taste like the original soft serve. Customers who come to yogurt shops for a true yogurt experience will be satisfied with original tart as well as with honey and vanilla Greek frozen yogurt, which can be paired with real fruit at the toppings counter.
Along with the typical flavors at other yogurt shops like white chocolate mousse, cake batter, cookies and cream and pomegranate, TCBY also dispenses a more interesting option – roasted marshmallow. This may not sound very appetizing, but when paired with graham cracker pieces and chocolate chips, this yogurt concoction is quite delicious.
When it comes to originality, TCBY takes the cake. Literally. Unlike other shops, this yogurt parlor sells yogurt cakes, which are similar to ice cream cakes but are made with frozen yogurt instead. Also, TCBY allows you to enjoy your frozen yogurt mixtures in large waffle cone. This original feature is unique to the shop and eliminates the waste created from throwing away cardboard cups and plastic spoons. Another unique element at TCBY is the Blend-All Shiver Maker. This machine swirls multiple yogurt flavors together into a new creation. Mix strawberry and chocolate together, and you’ve got a creamy version of chocolate covered strawberries.
Even with these interesting features, TCBY yogurt still costs the same as other yogurt shops – 39 cents an ounce. In addition to selling yogurt, the shop sells brightly colored T-shirts and gives away free buttons that support the business. The cashiers also hand out reward cards that give customers discounts on their yogurt purchases.
Other yogurt shops like Tutti Frutti and Yogurt Story are great when it comes to flavor. But if you’re looking for an incredible frozen yogurt experience, TCBY is the place to go. Living up to its name, TCBY has both mouth-watering flavors and fun, modern surroundings that other yogurt shops fall short of creating. Next time you have a craving for a sweet treat, check out this yogurt shop, and your sweet tooth is sure to be satisfied. The Marquee gives TCBY five stars.
