After holding the Marcus offense to a scoreless first half, Arlington was easily able to put some numbers on the board with a long touchdown pass that put them up 7 points over the Marauders. As the players went into the locker rooms for halftime, Arlington held a commanding 20-0 lead.
With two minutes left in the third quarter, Marcus quarterback Xavier Maxwell gave the ball to running back Justin Dinka who finally got the Marauders on the board with a 65-yard touchdown run. The score was 20-7, giving the Marauders momentum and hope for a comeback.
However, the comeback everyone was hoping for was quickly put to rest by Arlington’s offense which continued to put pressure on the Marcus defense with back-to-back trips to the endzone, including a 25-yard scoop-and-score by their defense and another touchdown just shortly after. Eventually throughout the third quarter the Colts racked up two more scores including a touchdown and a field goal. The score was 30-7 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Late in the 4th quarter, Justin Dinka ran for a 2 yard touchdown on 4th and goal. This was the second of just two scores for the Marauders as Arlington and their strong defense went home with a win by a score of 37-14.
