The Flower Mound Police Department viral lip-sync video won the USA Today’s lip sync bracket. They were up against the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in the final two. While Charlotte-Mecklenburg started ahead, FMPD pulled through in time to win. They won by 3,897 votes and finished with a total of 38,210.
After the summer social media trend of police officers and firefighters lip syncing, USA Today picked their favorite 16 across the nation and formed a bracket. The school’s SRO Michael Anderson shows off his dance moves in a featured role in the video and appreciated the communities support.
USA Today is allowed its viewership to vote on the best lip sync, and FMPD won the competition.
Their video has gotten over 550,000 on Youtube and more than 7.6 million views on Facebook. The first two rounds of the bracket FMPD received more votes than either of their competition, and their fans voted them all the way to the end.
