Junior Andrew Boyer started the Song Writing Club because he thinks some students have a lot of talent of writing.
“I was shocked at how many kids actually knew and wrote their own stuff,” Boyer said. Boyer says that most of those kids don’t have a place to share that lyrics/poetry but at home or YouTube.
Every Wednesday after school in D202, students from all over the school can share their lyrics, as well as sing and play their instrument.
Boyer created a space to share all the different talents the students have.
“I wanted a place where they can all swap ideas,” Boyer said. Some kids write lyrics, and some write a melody.
“I write lyrics recreational and I sing a lot but I never have a place to share my lyrics,” member Sabrina Renteria.
Making the Song Writing Club as comfortable and fun as possible to meet new people and get ideas. The club is trying to encourage people to join it.
“If somebody that starts writing music I’ll tell them to come,” Mikey Frantom.
