With the help of Assistant Principal Jason Mullins, the Marquee took a deeper look inside Marcus.
In A hall downstairs lies the mechanical room, where the air-conditioning unit lives. Water at 46 degrees resides in a pot where air blows over it and is pumped into large blue and green pipes that run all through the school.
As for the library, the new hangout on campus has secrets of its own. A side room is where the Media Retrieval System is housed. A TV which is wired to a VCR and DVD player is where Channel One is played. This is also known as the “central hub”. Soon this will be taken out.
From elementary school to high school, students question what really is in the teachers’ lounge. Truth is, there are not any, never ending buffet tables or massage tables. There is one lonely Coke machine, which contains the only real soda found on school property, a candy machine that works all day, and many, many mailboxes.
Now this is where all the action happens. Towards the end of the tour we finally reached the spotlight. Backstage was our final stop. The back left part of the stage contains a woodshop where the theater students build all of their props. The shop contains a large compressor for nail guns and table saws. Forty feet up above the stage up a steep narrow staircase and to the left is where the catwalk resides. Down the walk is where the shows curtain calls are managed.
